Slowrip formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2020 as a home demo project comprised of members from local heavyweights Velociraptor, Babaganuoj & Tiny Migrants. Over the course of the year, the band crafted their goth / post-punk sound and transitioned from the confines of the bedroom to the live sphere.

2021 saw the release of singles 'Traffic Patrol' and 'Keith' from their debut EP New Invention. Recorded in a single day at Plutonium Studios, New Invention comprises of 4 musical tales about ghost cars and arcade machines. 

Fusing goth, punk and psychedelia, the band's sound is equal parts familiar, unique, furious, controlled and unpredictable.
